Updated Rappelling Info


Our instructor Jeff Hatch, will be holding a safety training meeting June 14th, 7pm at the church.  Please make every effort to attend!

We understand that some of you will be out of town.  If you are legitimately unable to make the June 14th training, there will be a one time, last chance make-up meeting in early July.  We hope everyone will have a chance to attend and participate in this fun activity!

Medical Forms:  In addition to the church medical release forms, all rappelling participants will need to fill out the following Medical Forms A and B, and bring them to the training meeting.  Copies of insurance cards are not needed.



Rappelling equipment needed:  Just a heads up, I received the following information from our  instructor...

"I require each participant, adult or youth, to wear leather work gloves while on rappel. This is a safety measure, to prevent rope burn leading to instinctively letting go of the rope. We'll discuss this in June, but you might mention to the girls to bring a pair with them to camp, if they already have them.  They need to fit reasonably well. They can be a bit big, but not so big that they become floppy and risk getting caught in the rappel device or falling off."

June Pre-camp Activities

Mark your calendars!

June 14th 7pm at the church

Mandatory Safety Training for
all who want to participate in the rappelling activity.


Rappelling Instructor Jeff Hatch will be reviewing
safety guidelines and instructions for our
rappelling activity.

We will also be working on a few camp certification requirements.

Unfortunately, if you are unable to attend this activity, you will not be
able to do the rappelling activity at camp.

We hope you can make it!

Special Equipment Needed During Camp

Special equipment needed during camp:

(Please borrow or buy second hand!  Contact the camp director if you need help with these items!

Each girl will need to bring:
 A life jacket
A tube for floating the river
Grubby shoes or water shoes for the river
A camping chair
Roasting sticks
A mess kit similar to this one ($11)at Walmart including bowl, plate, cup, knife fork and spoon.

When the votes were tallied at our get-to-know-you activity, neon pink was the initial winner.... 

.....until we found out that not everyone had gotten a chance to vote.

2nd and Final Camp Deposit

2nd and Final Camp Deposit of $25 is due May 1st.  

This will cover Camp Lomondi costs, activities and food.  

Checks need to be written to:
South Weber 1st Ward

Deposit in a tithing envelope, with GIRLS CAMP written in the OTHER section.  
If you are not able to obtain a deposit slip, contact Molly Collings, Camp Director or your Young Women's leader.  

Don't forget!  If you helped babysit at last December's fundraiser, you may subtract $10 from the amount owed.

First Deposit Due Date Change
