Updated Rappelling Info

Our instructor Jeff Hatch, will be holding a safety training meeting June 14th, 7pm at the church.  Please make every effort to attend!

We understand that some of you will be out of town.  If you are legitimately unable to make the June 14th training, there will be a one time, last chance make-up meeting in early July.  We hope everyone will have a chance to attend and participate in this fun activity!

Medical Forms:  In addition to the church medical release forms, all rappelling participants will need to fill out the following Medical Forms A and B, and bring them to the training meeting.  Copies of insurance cards are not needed.

Rappelling equipment needed:  Just a heads up, I received the following information from our  instructor...

"I require each participant, adult or youth, to wear leather work gloves while on rappel. This is a safety measure, to prevent rope burn leading to instinctively letting go of the rope. We'll discuss this in June, but you might mention to the girls to bring a pair with them to camp, if they already have them.  They need to fit reasonably well. They can be a bit big, but not so big that they become floppy and risk getting caught in the rappel device or falling off."

Please call Molly Collings with any questions!!
